Challenge
The customer reached out with sunken and cracked concrete. Our crew lifted the concrete and fixed the cracks and joints.
The customer's foundation was failing and they needed the backside of the house jacked up. Alford Home Solutions used Smart Jacks, Joist replacement, and a supplemental beam.
The customer had a wet, musty, and dirty crawl space. We went in and removed debris and added CleanSpace to the crawl space.
Challenge
This finished basement was experiencing water intrusion problems that were threatening to destroy the drywall. The basement was damp and there was a musty odor that alerted the homeowner to an issue. Upon inspection by our basement professionals, it was discovered that water was entering the basement.
Solution
To rid the basement of the water intrusion problems, our professionals installed a perimeter drainage system, as well as a sump pump. These two products work together seamlessly together to ensure that the basement stays dry, thus keeping the finished basement from water damage.
Mold growth is a big issue in damp crawl spaces. In this process, debris and organic materials are first removed from the dirt floor in order to create a clean environment that's no longer conducive to mold. Our crawl space repair experts then install drainage matting over the dirt floor to create a drainage space that helps water find its way to the drain lines. Next, TerraBlock insulation, with a heat resistance value of R-4, is installed over the drainage matting to prevent heat loss and improve energy efficiency. The walls and rim joists are then covered with SilverGlo R-11 rated insulation, which is infused with graphite particles and has a radiant barrier that reflects heat back into the crawl space. The professionals also installed a CleanSpace 20-mil vapor barrier (also known as the liner), which seals out moisture and helps improve air quality in the crawl space. The CleanSpace liner is also treated with an antimicrobial finish that protects against mold and mildew growth. Finally, the CleanSpace system is fastened to the SilverGlo, creating a completely encapsulated space.
