Supplemental Beam
The steel supplemental beam was added to give extra support underneath the floor joists and carry the weight of the floor. This overall strengthens the floors.
New Rim Joists
We replaced the deteriorating joists with new ones to ensure a strong connection between the floor framing and the rest of the foundation system.
Deteriorating Joists
When moisture builds up over time in a crawl space, it can cause wooden elements, such as joists, to rot and weaken. You may also notice microbial growth or discoloration.
Unstable Crawl Space Support
When we inspected the crawl space, there was quite a bit of moisture and clear signs of water in the past. It may have contributed to the weakened structural elements, like the floor joists or rim joists, which can lead to sagging floors!
