Unstable Crawl Space
When we did an initial inspection of the crawl space underneath the bouncy floors, we noticed just how many of the support beams had shifted or begun to rot. This was likely due to humidity and moisture, and the settlement of soil.
Cracks in the Foundation Wall
Stairstep vertical cracks in the concrete foundation compounded the problem, leading us to believe this home was headed for serious structural damage if repair wasn't made.
Helical Piers Stabilization
The Alford Foundation & Crawl Space Repair team installed Helical Piers, which we screw deep into the earth to shift the weight of the structure away from settling soil. This both stabilizes and, oftentimes, can actually lift the foundation back into place.
Mechanical Installation Process
Installation for Helical Piers is quick with minimal disruption: Our crew "screws" each helical pier into the ground to find the appropriate depth and level of resistance, and once secured, the structure's weight is transferred to the helical piers.
No Mess Left Behind
We made sure to clean up the front yard once we were finished so there was minimal disruption.
