Cellar Entrance to Wet Crawl Space
When we entered the crawl space, the floors had puddles of water and excess moisture in various locations. Water in a crawl space is bad because it can lead to mold growth, wood rot, health issues like allergies and asthma, and even structural damage if not handled in a timely manner.
Flex Drain System
The Alford crew installed a Flex Drain System around the interior perimeter of the crawl space since the water damage was so extensive. This drain connects to the new sump pump which allows water to escape from the crawl space and away from the house (and foundation) to the discharge point.
Sump Pump Installation
A new crawl space sump system with a WaterWatch alert system was added to replace the old ineffective one. This improved sump has a built-in alert system that can detect a water leak or flooding if there is an incident. It also integrates easily with the CleanSpace vapor barrier, creating an airtight seal and preventing water from puddling ever again.
IceGuard for Frozen Pipe Protection
An IceGuard discharge line system was installed to protect the crawl space in the case the discharge pipes froze. It allows water to escape even if frozen, which prevents flooding.
Powerful Dehumidifier and Air Purifier
We finally placed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to eliminate any mugginess in the air. Did you know our SaniDry Sedona can remove up 100 pints of water per day from the air in your home? At the same time, it's moving around 300 cubic feet of dry air per minute around the crawl space, pushing clean air into your upper levels, ridding of allergies, dust, and and lowering electricity costs over time.
