Wet Crawl Space During Inspection
Upon inspection, there was a ton of standing water and water seepage along the walls. This space was prime for mold growth and poor air quality if not addressed as soon as possible!
Falling Insulation
We found old fiberglass insulation falling from the joists, indicating moisture might have already begun impacting the space. As part of the encapsulation, we replaced the fiberglass with SilverGlo wall insulation, a modern solution that is energy-efficient and protects from mold growth.
Drainage Matter Layer
We added a drainage matter layer to allow water to flow freely to the drainage. This layer is laid right before the CleanSpace liner.
Completed Crawl Space Encapsulation
Once we completed the encapsulation, it was fully protected and became a part of the home. This energy-efficient crawl space was a clean, dry environment, ready for healthy living.
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
We placed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to extract moisture from the air and maintain healthy humidity levels at all times.
TripleSafe Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe sump pump system was the heart of encapsulation and allowed water to be safely removed from the crawl space and exit away from the foundation. It's a very powerful sump pump, with the primary pump capable of handling up to 2,600 gallons of water per hour!
IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line
As water exited the sump system and the exterior of the home, it flowed through the new IceGuard fitting. This fitting is perfect during those cold winter months, avoiding flooding in the crawl space in the case of frozen pipes.
EverLast Door
Finally, we placed an EverLast Door to completely seal off the crawl space from the outside world. This prevents outside air, full of moisture, from entering and adding to the humidity level.
