Staining Along Concrete Block Walls
Upon inspection, we found more indicators of water intrusion and staining on the concrete block walls. If not handled quickly, the homeowners may experience more problems in the upper levels of the home, like mold, bad smells, rotting, and poor air quality.
Water Damage to Support Beams
Not only was there potential damage to the foundation from pooling water, but over time, the moisture building up in the crawl space could begin impacting other elements like the wooden beams and joists. Eventually, this would lead to rot and microbial growth.
Improved Drainage System
We installed the Flex Drain System around the interior perimeter since this crawl space was leaking groundwater after snow and rain events. This drain collects water from the outer edge of the crawl space and allows it to flow to the sump pump.
Drainage Matting Installation
Before we installed the vapor barrier, we laid drainage matting to create an air space for water to flow freely to the flex drain and sump pump.
Protecting the Space from Humidity
We placed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier that continuously removes excess moisture from the air. This prevents condensation, mold, rot, and smelly odors associated with water intrusion.
SmartSump Sump Pump System
This sump system is designed for crawl spaces and immediately alerts you if there's a water leak. It also includes an air-tight lid preventing clogging or moisture from entering the room.
