Microbial Growth on Wooden Joists
Though water was flowing through the basement, the moisture had impacted the crawl space, including wooden elements like these joists. Microbial growth was identified and removed to protect the health and safety of the residents.
Cracked Dirt Crawl Space Floor
Water has intruded into this dirt space over and over again, leading to significant cracks. Over time, this would have likely led to foundation issues as the structure began to settle. Fortunately, the homeowner chose to get an encapsulation when they did!
Finished CleanSpace Vapor Barrier with Wrapped Piers
This completely sealed vapor barrier prevents water from intruding into the basement floor. If water does get into the crawl space, it will make its way through the newly installed interior drainage, through the sump pump, and out through the exterior drainage away from the foundation.
Crawl Space Encapsulation Solution
As part of the encapsulation, our crew installed a SmartPump sump pump for crawl spaces that can pump 2,500 gallons of water per hour and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to prevent humidity. You can also see the SilverGlo insulation along the walls that keep the walls and floors warmer, the rooms energy-efficient, and protect against mold.
SmartPump Sump System
This powerful sump pump is designed for crawl spaces and built with a cast-iron Zoeller primary pump, so it's highly durable. The built-in alarm system will sound if there's water in the crawl space.
LawnScape Discharge Outlet
This discharge outlet is unique in that it prevents leaves, animals, and other debris from clogging it. Any water that exits the sump pump will safely discharge here, away from the foundation!
