Settling Porch with Erosion
Upon inspection, we found the side of the porch eroding, likely due to water runoff and periods of wet and dry conditions. As rainwater and snow impacted the sides of the porch, they gradually washed it away and weakened the soil supporting it underneath.
Side View of Settling Porch
Settling occurs when the soil is too dry, too wet, or the soil beneath the slab is poorly compacted. When there are voids that form in the soil, the slab cracks and falls into the gaps.
PolyLevel Injection Process
We used PolyLevel, a highly durable injectable foam, to lift and level the concrete slab. We drill pea-sized holes into the slab, and inject the polymer foam into the voids where it's unstable.
Final Lifted and Sealed Concrete Porch
To combat the cracking, we seal each with NexusPro sealant. It's resistant to UV rays, prevents water from infiltrating cracks and joints, and protects the concrete against erosion.
