We asked our Service Technicians what their best tips were for homeowners looking to protect their crawl spaces and foundations.
1. Control the water - Keep it away from the house. If you find water in your basement or crawl space, don't ignore the problem because it will only get worse!
2. Keep tabs on what's happening in your crawl space or basement - Make sure to get in those spaces, or have someone check periodically, for water, malfunctioning sump systems, or even pest problems that could be signs of moisture. These are indications you have a problem, and you don't want them to turn into a larger, more costly problem!
3. Never leave anything sitting on your sump pump! It could cause damage to the pump or prevent easy access. If you ever have a water incident, you want to make sure it's completely operational.
