Dark Crawl Space with Waste
The crawl space was dark and filled with debris and waste. We cleaned it thoroughly to remove hazards and make sure it looked and felt the best it could before the work started.
Exposure to the Outside
The windows allowed in humidity, water, and moisture into the crawl space. This can be a direct source of moisture problems for crawl spaces, even if you don't have a leak or seepage.
Proper Drainage Around Crawl Space Perimeter
We installed a trench drainage system around the perimeter of the crawl space to allow any intruding water to flow toward an evacuation point and away from the motel. This is important because in the case water does get in, it won't collect and cause lasting damage.
Blocked Off and Sealed Vents
We blocked off and sealed all vents using SilverGlo insulation and spray foam to protect the crawl space from outside air, which brings humidity, pests, and, of course, water. This added protection is another key element to waterproofing any crawl space and preventing mold, rot, and odor.
Waterproofed Crawl Space with Vapor Barrier
The Alford team installed CleanSpace encapsulation to waterproof the motel's crawl space and protect it from future moisture and water. CleanSpace is the ultimate solution to keeping your crawl space dry, bright, and energy-efficient.
Sump Pump Installation
The SuperSump Pump with airtight lid and floor drain was embedded to dispose of any water attempting to collect in the crawl space. This sump pump is designed for crawl spaces, so water is pumped through the drain, out and away from the motel. It also features a built-in alarm in the case of a water leak.
